In this module you will become familiar with the effects of ageing skin, stripping, radiation and digestive enzymes on peristomal skin. 

Peristomal skin can be challenged by a number of factors. You will explore the intrinsic and extrinsic factors and be shown what to look for when caring for peristomal skin. You will discover how radiation, routines, age, enzymes, stripping and nutrition can all present risks to normal peristomal skin. 

At the end of the module, you will also be able to test yourself on these common challenges.
